Arm injuries are most commonly caused in road traffic accidents and in workplaces where machinery is used. The most common arm injuries are muscle strains, bruises, crushed extremity, fractures, tendon injuries and nerve injuries. These arm injuries often result in:
- Long-term pain;
- Stiffness; and
- Inability to use your arm.
An accident isn’t the only way that you may receive an arm injury. Overuse or postural issues can cause arm injuries. This condition is known as repetitive stress injury (RSI).
Fractures are common in slips, trips and falls. It is important that you get medical care to receive an accurate diagnosis because you could have nerve damage. Symptoms of arm injuries can be extremely debilitating and you may not be able to perform normal household tasks or even work.
